Transfer Information

To reach Slieve Aughty Centre requires some travel within Ireland once your flight lands. The center offers several options to get you here safely and easily.

For guests arriving at Shannon, Galway, or Dublin Airport, the center can arrange transport.  Children unaccompanied by an adult will be collected by Slieve Aughty Centre staff and escorted to Cartron House.  For their departure, a member of our staff will take them to the airport and book them in 2 hours before their flight departs.  Adults can also be picked up and dropped directly at the airport.

From Dublin to the centre takes approximately 3 hours, 1 ½ from Shannon, and 45 minutes from Galway.  Please see pricelist for transfer cost.  When you disembark from the airplane, go the information desk and look for a representative holding a sign that reads, "Slieve Aughty Centre". Occasionally arriving guests will need to wait for other guests requiring transfer that may have later flight times.  If you would like personal taxi service, we can arrange this for you as well.

For adults, another option is to take the bus to Loughrea.  If arriving from Shannon, this requires changing buses in Galway city's bus, where you take the number 20 CityLink bus toward Dublin.  The bus costs approximately 15 euro and takes 2 - 2 ½ hours to get to Loughrea.

From Dublin airport, the CityLink bus leaves every hour at quarter past the hour and goes directly to Loughrea.  The CityLink bus costs approximately 15 euro and takes about 4 hours.  Upon arrival in Loughrea, simply ring the centre and we will come and collect you.  We recommend that you book your bus ticket ahead of time, particularly during the busy summer season, and the cost, which includes the return fare, is covered by the guest.  A member of our staff will collect you at the Loughrea bus stop when you arrive.  Please see the pricelist for transfer cost from Loughrea to the Slieve Aughty Centre.

For guests with their own transportation, we are happy to provide you with driving directions and a mobile contact should you get lost.  Maps are available at the airport.

While you are staying with us, a taxi service is available from the centre to Loughrea for 15 euro.  We are happy to book this for you upon request, as well as arrange your bus ticket to your departing airport.
