School Tours

Slieve Aughty Centre caters for school groups, from senior infants and up, of up to 50 students.  Choose from the selection of programmes below, or combine 2 programmes at no extra cost.  School tours can include lunch or feel free to bring your own.  See below for details, or download a school tour booking form now!

Philosophy:
Over the last decade, time and possibility for children to be out in nature has reduced enormously.  Instead, children play indoors more, and homes are bigger and filled with toys, TV and computers.

Slieve Aughty Centre's school tours programme strives to bring children back in touch with the natural world through experience and close contact with nature.  Programmes such as Natural Wonders and Eco-Logic stimulate children's senses and a respect and love for nature, thus creating a care and concern for the environment that we hope will follow them into their adult lives.

Our equestrian programmes create a similar experience for the animal world, supporting children in developing a bond with ponies and horses that hopefully leads to a desire to consider the welfare of animals and their habitat as adults.
